My name is Jayla Rodriguez, I am the sole owner and founder of Desear. I moved to Miami alone fresh out of high school at just eighteen years old. I wanted to move to open my opportunities, and have a fresh start. I wanted to start a brand, because I grew up watching my dad own his own brand and business. I decided on bikinis because I have always felt so confident in bikinis, and felt I could design bikinis that made other girls feel the same. I found manufacturers and got started on designing pieces, and getting samples made. It took me almost a year of going back and forth to decide on a manufacturer that I felt was truly good quality, and could make my vision come to life. When deciding all the details for Desear, I thought it was very important that quantities were limited. I loved the exclusivity of brands having small drops, and never restocking. It made pieces feel more unique and more of a collectible.
